Well, remaking in my own image means I don’t really have to acknowledge the source material, do I? I wouldn’t say BATTLE OF BLOOD & INK is Lois Lane Folk Literature, but it did scratch my “girl reporter” itch something fierce.
That said, I’ve been reading a ton of King Arthur work recently, and I’ve had the beginnings of a desire to plunge into that thousand-year-old mythos. That’s the only thing I can think of where calling the characters “Arthur,” “Lancelot,” and “Guinivere” would be important, rather than just a desire to play with someone else’s toys.
